Tom's Canyon Trail

Tom’s Canyon Trail is a roughly 3-mile roundtrip out-and-back hiking and equestrian trail to the northeast of Kanab, UT. The trail offers horseback riders and hikers a gentle ramble through sagebrush, dry ravines, and up a box canyon. The trail ends at a small picnic area with hitching posts. An unmaintained route continues for 0.25 miles to a scenic weeping rock at the base of the canyon.

Tom’s Canyon Trail is open to foot and horse traffic only; bicycles and motorized vehicles are not allowed. Dogs are welcome, but their waste must be packed out. The trailhead offers a small parking area and an informational kiosk but no other amenities. For more information and detailed maps, visit the Kanab Visitor Center (BLM) in Kanab, UT.

Tom’s Canyon Trail is primarily clay based. Please refrain from using the trail when it is wet or snow covered to protect the trail surface.
