Milford Lake is located just north of Interstate 70 about 65 miles west of Topeka. From Topeka, take I-70 west to Exit 295, then north on US 77 for 4 miles to K-57. Then turn left on K-57 and go 1.5 miles to the Milford Lake Information Center.

Important Information

This site can be accessed by either boat across Jackson Lake, or an 8 mile hike from Glade Creek Trailhead which may include a river crossing. It has a bear box which can accommodate one typically sized cooler. Do not bring more food than can fit in the bear box. All Jackson Lake campsites require packing out solid human waste. This site has a fire grate which allows campfires unless restricted under high fire danger.

Overview

School creek is a primitive campground. No water or electric hook ups are available. Vault

restrooms are located very close to each camping loop. A boat ramp is available for use within the

park. School Creek Campground sits right next to our School Creek ORV area that is

accessible for riders of all ages. All the campsites sit on the banks of Milford Lake, the largest

man-made lake in Kansas.

Timber Creek provides visitors with primitive camping opportunities with beautiful sunsets and the comforts of a nearby small town. An expanse of 33,000 acres surrounding the lake is public, protected land that's home to an array of wildlife. It's also an ideal setting for outdoor recreation like hiking, swimming, hunting, fishing and driving off-road vehicles at the ORV area.

Overview

Curtis Creek Park is a classic camping destination with a wealth of options for boating, hiking, hunting and fishing.


The park area provides excellent views of Milford Lake and Milford Dam. In total, the Milford Lake region is home to 33,000 acres of public land protected for recreation, wildlife and cultural resources.

Water skiing is popular sport on the lake, while an accessible floating fishing dock provides an ideal location for catching trout closer to shore.

The majority of sites have electric and water hookups and modern amenities such as flush toilets and hot showers, provide a comfortable camping experience.

A boat ramp and playground are both provided for entertainment and convenience.

West Rolling Hills is a comfortable campground with a site layout that maximizes views of the sparkling Milford Lake.

An expanse of 33,000 acres surrounding the lake is public, protected land that's home to an array of wildlife. It's also an ideal setting for outdoor recreation like hiking, swimming, hunting and driving off-road vehicles.

Nearly 70% of the land resources are available for public hunting and the park has a fish cleaning station for anglers returning from a successful trip.

Facilities

The loop A campground has modern conveniences like showers and flush toilets. Most of these sites have electric and water hookups, as well.

The Thunderbird Marina is a easy starting point for a day on the lake, while an on-site playground provides fun for families.

Free camping opportunities are available for visitors looking for basic camping with vault toilets.

Boating, swimming, fishing, birding and biking are among the many things to do at Milford Lake. Nearly 70% of the land resources are available for public hunting and for fishermen returning from a successful trip, there is a fish cleaning station.

Facilities

The campground has five pull-through RV pads, one of which is an accessible site. Of the 59 cap sites, more than half have electric hookups. The park offers the comfort of hot showers, a playground and boat ramp.

NORTH OVERLOOK PARK (KS) Campground

Overview

North Overlook Park is a one of the many day use parks at Milford Lake with two shelters available for reservations, great fishing access, and a playground. Also within walking distance of the shelters is a baseball field, horseshoe pits and a volleyball court. With these features offered, North Overlook Park is sure to have something for the whole family.

Facilities

Each shelter has picnic tables and grill available for use. Shelter 2 also has a sand volleyball court and horseshoe pits available. And there is a playground, vault toilet and baseball field located between the two shelters.

A golf course is adjacent to the nature center on the north end of the Dam and the town of Junction City is approximately five miles from North Overlook Shelter.


OUTLET PARK (KS) Campground

Overview

Outlet Park is a day use park at Milford Lake located just below the Milford Dam. With one shelter available for reservation, those visitors interested in angling and wildlife observation will enjoy its location near the Outlet Pond, a popular fishing pond and wildlife attractor. Inside the park is also a swim beach, great fishing areas and access to the Riverwalk Trail.

EAST ROLLING HILLS PARK (KS) Campground

Overview

East Rolling Hills day use park is the largest day use park the Corps of Engineers offers at Milford Lake with six shelters available for reservations. Each shelter location is unique but all offer a beautiful view of Milford Lake. Inside the park a swim beach and free boat ramp are also offered to the public.
