To visit the Lake Office, From I-35, travel west on Williams Dr. approx. 5 miles to D.B. Wood Road and continue for approx 0.5 miles to Lake Overlook Drive. Turn right on Lake Overlook Drive and continue 1 block. Turn right to access the Lake Office. Office hours are 8-4:30 M-F. There is a RV turn-around area on this road.

Be Bear Aware! There is a high level of bear activity in the Mt. Whitney area.
- At the trailhead, all food and scented items must be removed from vehicles and stored in the bear proof lockers located in parking areas.
- Put trash in bear proof trashcans at the trailhead.
- On the trail, use bear proof containers to store all food and refuse. Hanging food is not allowed.
- All Mt. Whitney visitors are expected to pack out their solid human waste (poop and paper). Pack out kits are distributed with wilderness permits.
- No Campfires.
- Only the group leader or alternate leader may pick up or use the permit; the person picking up the permit must be going on the wilderness trip.
- Stock is not allowed Trail Crest to Whitney Portal.
- Special approval is required for commercial use.
- BE SURE YOUR DATES AND TRAIL ARE CORRECT. The entire group must start on the trail on the entry date listed. Reservation dates cannot be changed or transferred.
- Deadline to Pick up Permit: Reservation will be canceled at 10 a.m. on the entry date unless the permit is confirmed for late arrival. One or two weeks before your trip, confirm your group size online to hold your reservation for late arrival. Link to instructions are in the confirmation letter.

Cedar Breaks Park sits on the south side of Georgetown Lake in the Hill Country of Texas, about 25 miles north of Austin.Recreation
Boating is the most popular way to enjoy the lake, and a boat ramp is provided for guests. Fishing is excellent in the area, and the lake contains Black bass, White bass, Hybrid stripers, White crappie, Channel catfish and Flathead catfish, but its most known for its abundance of Smallmouth bass. The San Gabriel River Trail is a 26 mile rugged trail winding through dense juniper forest, hardwood bottomlands and prairie grasslands. The trail extends completely around Georgetown Lake via the dam and is open to hiking and biking. Hunting is available for for small game like dove, waterfowl, rabbit and squirrel, as well as white tail deer. Hunting is by permit only.Facilities
Cedar Breaks Park has 59 reservable campsites, and convenient amenities like flush toilets and electric hookups are provided. Two groups picnic shelters are also available, allowing for large parties, cookouts and family trips.Natural Features

Hunting is available for small game species such as dove, waterfowl, rabbit and squirrel, as well as white-tailed deer. Hunting is by permit only.Facilities
Russell Park is open year round and offers 27 primitive campsites with drinking water and flush toilets close by. Ten of these campsites have screened shelters which contain bunk beds with no bedding. Additional amenities include a swim beach and day use area.Natural Features
